How is everyone doing? It's almost summer and I am getting antsy to make something. Anything really, I have this cool pattern I bought on Burdastyle, here's a flat of it.

I have been wanting a motorcycle jacket for a long time, I actually blogged about a vintage one I saw here. I have a problem with the jacket fitting my shoulders and then I have to go up in size. It will fit my shoulders but then the body is big, so that's why I want to make my own. I have the pattern and I have my fabric so hopefully this summer I can start... Let me know are they any motorcycle jackets you like or have to have? I think these would go well with those Skin Graft bags also.

Happy almost memorial day! Anybody have any bbq plans for the weekend? I love bbq but that sauce gets everywhere.... Where I am going with all of this is Anna Maria Horner has a new line of fabric out and I love it. The name of it is Loulouthi. She has voiles, quilting weight cottons and some laminated cottons. The prints are adorable and I want to make myself a nice summer dress out of some of those voiles.

Neons!

This year I am seeing a lot of the neon colors. It doesn't matter if it is neon orange, green, pink or yellow. I have seen them all and I am guilty of buying these neon orange almost oxford like shoes. I changed the laces to black robbons but they are adorable. I even made a matching bow out of an equally bright fabric.

All this leads up to these neon green heels I just saw on jak&jil.

I think these are just as cool as my neon orange ones and they are a different neon color. This woman doesn't have on any other neon green things on but shes is staying the neon color range. I really like her outfit. What about you? Love neon or is it too close to the Eighties for you?

Red Bull.

Does anyone remember those Red Bull commercials from maybe five or six years ago? The ones with that little dude and their tag line was " Red Bull gives you wiings!" I always thought they were funny but the point of this was because I was looking at Jak&Jil and I saw these shoes.

Don't these shoes just yell Red Bull. I don't think I would ever wear these, they are a little weird for me but you never know. What about you? Are you a Red Bull person? Would you wear these? You wouldn't be able fly but you can think you can....

Hello, hello. How is everyone? Today's topic is Etsy. What do you think of it? As I shop more and more on there I am coming to think of it as a crafty ebay. Today I was browsing and I saw these lace fingerless gloves.

I thought how cool. At first I thought she made them out of old lace and then after flipping through the pictures I realized she had knit them. I mean I find something to buy on there every time I look but then I see people who post things they found at an estate sale or a thrift store. I mean I understand that if you don't sell it, it will become part of your collection, when someone else would enjoy it more. I guess it is a different form of ebay it is just geared to a certain demographic. What do you think? Are you an Etsy shopper or seller? Have a great rest of the week.

Remember my post last week about Skin Graft, well this week I was looking on the Barney's website and then I saw this in the top section.

This is a Givenchy harness top, it's $680 for one size. It seems that you tie it in the front so it is adjustable for your size but I don't think it's made for everyone. It is definitely not in my budget, if it was I would so buy this. I think this would go great with anything that Skin Graft makes. I guess you can tell I love leather. What about you? Are you an animal right's person and don't want to harm the cows or are youa leather lover too?

If you are in LA and Givenchy is in your price point, Barney's is having a trunk show Tuesday April 12-13 in Beverly Hills. I don't kniow if there is a specific time but call them and see. This seems like it would fun if I had the time to go, so if anyone goes comeback and comment, let me know how it is.

Skin Graft

Hello Readers,

I hope everyone is doing well, today is a harness kind of day. Has anyone heard of Skin Graft? I first saw them at Pool Trade Show about three years ago and I thought how cool. Here's a pic:

I have this bag in canvas, I love it. It is great for concerts and when I go out because then I don't have to worry about my bag and it looks great. Skin Graft opened in May of 2008 and it looks like they are getting more popular. They specialize in leather and this season they seem to be focusing on knits also. Here is another bag that looks great with a motorcycle jacket and boots.

His jacket also goes well with that bag. I have been seeing more people wear their stuff and I think they haave a kind steampunk feel to some of there stuff. What do you think? Love it, hate it, I don't know.... Happe Wednesday.

I don't know about you but I love rings and these have a very medieval feel to them. I love how she matched her nails to the rings. I don't know who the designer is or whose hand this is but it speaks to me. I think of knights in shining in armor and all the different kinds of armor in the different kinds of metal. They are kind of gothic but they have a romantic feel to them. How do you think they would look in another color? Maybe like an old copper, like the Statue of Liberty, I love that color and I think the rings in that color would be rad. What do you think? Like 'em, Love 'em or Hate 'em? Painter's Block

Hello long time no blog. I just got done with my collection for the Fashion 130 class and man was that class a lot of work. In the end it was very rewarding and I loved my mini collection and everyone else's, we worked hard. The class was only six weeks so I think you do need to do some prep work before the class even starts. I only did one pattern for this outfit ahead of time.

It was a rough pattern and I still had a lot of fitting to do on the blouse pattern once the class started but the outfit came out great.

This dress that you are about to see is in it's third reincarnation. Originally I was going to do separates, but I wanted to save myself some time so I thought aha a dress should do the trick. I loved how this dress turned out, tell me what you think...

My final outfit is by far my favorite because it has my colors, the ones I love to wear and accessorize with. The pattern for both the shorts and blouse were time consuming but the final product looks great.

I think I am going to make that this top for me, I just have to fit the pattern. The only thing I am disappointed about is that I was not able make any accessories, I started a clutch on the final day of class but I was just a little burnt out to finish it, so accessories coming soon. Kid Robot

How is everyone? I hope your week has been well... I am planning on going to a estate sale in a little while but earlier this week I was doing some internet shopping and I went over to the kid robot site. I saw this cute hot dog pouch. They call them yummypockets pouch and I guess if you love hot dogs you would be pretty hungry.

It actually look really realistic, so would you want an un-messy hotdog floating around in your purse or would you just bypass this accessory? Is it a hit or miss?

My Dress Design for Shabby Apple Dresses.

We were assigned a project in one of my fashion design classes that correlated to an actual contest happening at Shabby Apple Dresses. I had a lot of fun with this project and all the things it entailed.

My Mood Board

I was inspired by The Notebook and all of the great dresses that Rachel McAdams wore. The 1940s and all of the different styles that are still cute and tasteful are what I think of when I think Shabby Apple.

My Textiles

The colors are ones I saw that were forecasted for Spring 2011. I chose two knits, the blue-berry is an interlock and cloudy is a single jersey knit that I thought would work well on the bodice parts of my dresses. For the wovens I chose two prints, logan berry and butter, which are 100% cotton. Then I chose one solid, raspberry, that I thought would go well with the other prints.

Hello. I know I am a bit late blogging about the FYF Festival at the cornfield at the beginning of September, but I did attend with some of my bffs and I had a wonderful time listening to Dead Man's Bones and Cold Cave for the very first time. You would recognize Cold Cave from the Verizon commercial. Okay, so I should be blogging about accessories and that is just what I am about to do. I saw some very interesting things there and my favorite of the whole night was this dinosaur bag.

Once again I was on Jak&Jil this morning andI found this really rad picture of these two women in an animal printed top and her friend has a jacket on and as someone pointed out it is actually Proenza Schouler from Spring 2010.

Long time no blog. How is everyone out there? I'm thinking of moving to tumblr. I need some feedback so let me know...This semester I think I'm still doing accessories but I may change it up from time to time. So I was flipping through Jak&Jil and I found these really rad heels.

These are like two of my favorite colors black and that sea foamy green/turquoise. I don't know if I would ever be able to wear these as I am a total klutz, but they are pretty cool. I know in my closet they would match with a lot of things and I think they would fair pretty well in most women's closets because this turquoise color has been very popular. What do you think? Would I find these in your closet? Let me know...

How many of you out there are into heavy metal? It doesn't have to be the music it can be the chains or whatever...I guess it's up to interpretation and what your definition of it is. I was surfing through Jak&Jil again because I love they're blog and I found these great heels.

Okay, so I have never blogged on my love of motocycle jackets, but alas I must, I have found and seen many that I just love and every time, I say, " I have to have it!" but they are just so darn expensive. So as I was cruising Jak&Jil I found this spectacular jacket, I don't know who the designer or the line is that its from but it is cool, very punk rock.

I believe it's vintage...but I'm not certain. What do you think like it or no or you can't make a decision because it's not a full picture?

Faux Pas?

Good Morning. I think I have found a little something that might wake you up or it may do nothing...it all depends.

It's like a different motorcycle vest...very different. I'm not so certain myself, I am still waffling on it, if it's nice or one of those vacation beach shirts gone wrong. I guess it is up to the viewer, as I stare at it while I'm writing it grows on me, so you never know.

What do you think of it? Would you wear it?

Okay, I admit it, I am in love with Jak&Jil. It is like my go to thing for stuff to blog about and today I have found some, I think, punk inspired Givenchy accessories.

I believe it is just the headband and purse (which you can only see the strap of sorry)

So I really like them...from what I can see. I always love studs and punk stuff, but now that I look at the headband it kind of looks like it was inspired by the Statue of Liberty.

What do you think? Are you stud kind of person? and last question Gold or Silver studs?

Cruella de Vil

It feels like a villian Monday and today is a Cruella, because it's cool, new week but I'm not really looking forward to it, like you don't really want to hear from Cruella...

So I was cruising through Jak&Jil this morning and I found some shoes to match my villian and so I think these make my Monday a little brighter...

They're like a combination Dalmatian print/Mary Jane/WingTip/Architetural/Mod heel...I like them and if I actually wore heels I think I would wear these. I think they are Dior, but I'm not really certain. They'll match with a lot so you will get a bunch of use out of these.

What do think love 'em, they're ok, or you hate 'em?

Hello again.

How was your weekend? Watches, how many do you own? Do you honestly need more than one or is it like an obsession, you just have to it when you see it? What about Legos when are you too old them, is it when fashion becomes number one in your life or is it just out of sight of mind and then you are over it? Last question but what about Legos and watches together?

So this weekend I was perusing The Cool Hunter website and found these Lego inspired watches by JC de Castelbajac along with some hats, bags, clothing and jewelry.

With these in mind are we no longer too old for Legos and is this watch something you must have? Personally, I like the neon watches but the Lego bag is something I could see myself getting...

Happy Friday the 13th. Has anyone found any cool accessories? I just discovered a designer who is new to me...Giles Deacon! Click his name for runway pictures. His Ready-To-Wear for Spring 2010 is adorable, I love the whole line but I especially love his triceratops bags! He has one that is the same color as a pair of his trousers and that is my favorite but I love them all.

What do you think? Are you a dinosaur person or are they only for kids?

Sorry for the hiatus... I missed all of October but look at it this way Thanksgiving is in three weeks. How was your Halloween? Did anyone see any great costumes with some amazing accesories? I'm kind of bummed as adults we don't get to trick or treat, so we don't get those rad candy bags but then we have all these cool purses instead...so it makes up for it I guess. Okay, so moving on todays accessory is some really rad shoes that remind me of Halloween, one of my favorite holidays...

These seem like something you would find a girl wearing for a costume, like a punk rock chick or a prety fierce bumble bee.

I never really notice them on a person because they are so common, almost everyone wears one, right? There are the ones with links, the leather cuff ones, calculator ones, bracelet ones, etc. Well it seems that there has been a fluorescent/ rainbow trend that is trickling down from the Ready-To-Wear shows into accessories, more specifically watches.

These watches are like a flashback to childhood with the silicone straps and neon colors, they are like the jelly sandals that everyone use to wear.

Were you into those jelly sandals?
If yes, would you get a jelly watch to reminisce about those jelly sandal days?
If no, what don’t you like about them?

And so it begins, this is a new week and do I have something special for you. With regards to my fashion sense I love color, especially bright neon colors and today I have found some unique shoes from designer Lucilla Lotti. The Cool Hunter gives a better premise for the designer then I do so...

In Lucila Lotti’s case, genetics definitely played a part in her creative upbringing. Her father, Jorge Lotti began his tailoring shop in Buenos Aires in 1920 and grew the business to become a major presence in the South American garment industry until the 90’s, when it closed. Lucila, the youngest of the family grew up amongst this love of detail, fine fabrics and quality craftsmanship. Hello and welcome to my blog…

I’m Dino and I love accessories like purses, jewelry, shoes, and hats. Adding some accessories to an outfit is like putting frosting on a cupcake making it cuter and sweeter, that’s how I like to think of it. At the moment my favorite jewelry collaboration would have to be Kidrobot by Tarina Tarantino, together they have done earrings, necklaces, necklace pendants and wallet chains.

The great thing about the Kozik Labbits are that when you order them you won’t know which two you are going to get which makes the surprise even sweeter.
